The events of the final day of the Confederations Cup group stage were a fairytale for USA, and a nightmare for Egypt and Italy. The US came from nowhere to snatch a spot in the semis, thanks to an emphatic 3-0 victory over a hapless Egypt side. In the other game, Brazil outclassed Italy by the same scoreline to ease through to the last four and widen the Azzurri's misery. Man of the day: Bob Bradley The US coach deserves it after his side showed magnificent composure against Egypt, who just needed one more goal to leapfrog the Americans. Bradley's cool approach to the game was decisive, despite the fact that his side's chances were scant before the group finale. Goal of the day: Michael Bradley vs. Egypt The tireless midfielder capped an extraordinary day for the Bradley family with a classy goal against Essam Al-Hadari. A slick exchange of passes with Landon Donovan was followed by a great finish from Bradley the son, much to the delight of his father from the dugout. Quote of the day "I had to get five stitches in my head, but that injury doesn't hurt nearly as much as losing this match. I am gutted, we all are," Egypt keeper Al-Hadari.
