Preview: Egypt seek compatibility against Oman
Published in FilGoal on 29 - 05 - 2009

Egypt coaching staff will be looking for compatibility among their players during the exhibition match with Oman on Saturday.
The warm-up game is part of the Pharaohs' preparations for their crucial World Cup qualifier against Algeria on June 7th.
In their previous qualifying match against Zambia, Egypt were held to a 1-1 draw at home, and their lackluster performance and inefficiency raised doubts over their qualification prospects.
The six-time African champions struggled to find any fluency against their unfancied opponents, and clearly failed to work harmoniously, pundits believe.
The friendly in Oman is the Egyptians' only chance to prove that lack of collaboration is no longer an issue ahead of their stern encounter with the Desert Foxes.
Other Options
Egypt will be without frontline duo Mido and Emad Meteb.
Wigan Athletic hitman Mido was surprisingly omitted from the squad, while Meteb had been ruled out earlier due to a knee injury.
Egypt coach Hassan Shehata usually includes Meteb in the starting eleven, but now he will have to consider other options.
Meanwhile, Amr Zaki is widely expected to start the game, and might be fielded as a lone striker.
Good Experience
According to president of the Omani FA Khaled Ben Hamed, Oman will not be seeking to register a win over Egypt.
"Recording a victory over Egypt is not our objective, we just want to benefit from the game," he told the Egyptian FA's official website.
"I'm pretty sure the game will be a good experience for us and for the Egyptians as well."
Egypt are currently holding a training camp in the sultanate in preparation for the Algeria showdown.
