Wigan Athletic coach Steve Bruce is tipped to succeed Joe Kinnear as Newcastle United boss, according to British newspaper Daily Mirror. The report stated that Bruce has already received an offer from the Magpies, amid Kinnear's health problems. Kinnear has recently undergone triple heart bypass surgery, and will need to rest for at least a couple of months. The 62-year-old had a heart attack 10 years ago when he was in charge of Wimbledon, and spent several years away from football. Now he's widely expected to quit coaching for good in order not to put his life in jeopardy. Newcastle are now under the management Kinnear's assistant Chris Hughton, who has been appointed as interim coach alongside Colin Calderwood.
