Sion chairman Christian Constantin revealed that his side turned down Ismaili's offer to sign keeper Essam Al-Hadari. "We can't let him go. He is an important member of our squad," Constantin told Modern Sport in a telephone interview late on Thursday. "We will only allow him to leave if a team better than Sion table a bid for him. Al-Hadari himself wants to join a strong European club." Ismaili were keen on signing Al-Hadari before the closure of the transfer window after becoming increasingly frustrated at Mohamed Sobhi's failure to put in assured displays. Recent reports suggested that the Egypt guardian will be punished by world governing body FIFA for breaching his Ahli contract. Al-Hadari joined Sion in February 2008 without the consent of Ahli, claiming that he invoked the infamous article 17 of FIFA regulations to depart. "I don't think that he will be sanctioned. He will be with us during the second half of the season," Constantin added.
