Mohamed Zidan said he had never experienced something like the support of Borussia Dortmund fans. "What Dortmund fans do can not be compared with anything else," Zidan said in an interview with RevierSport. "In Egypt, there are stadiums which can host up to 90,000 spectators but the fans there do not support their teams like Dortmund fans." The Egyptian forward, who joined Dortmund from Hamburg in the close season, was booed by his own fans early in the season before winning over them later on. "In my first two or three games, the fans jeered me but I remained calm and accepted their chants," he said. "My teammates were very supportive and helpful during that period." After a difficult start to life at Dortmund, Zidan started to gain the fans' trust by scoring four goals in the first half of the Bundesliga season. Great Team Zidan believes that Dortmund can be classified among the world's greatest teams. "I do not really think that playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona would be greater than playing for Dortmund." "In my eyes Dortmund are a great team," the former Mainz man added.
