Mido is close to leaving Middlesbrough in the near future, but is yet to decide on his next destination, the Egypt forward's brother Tamer Hossam Wasfi said. The 25-year-old is dismayed by lack of first-team football at Riverside, where frontmen Afonso Alves and Sanli Tuncay are usually given the nod. "Mido is on the verge of leaving Middlesbrough because he wants to play regularly," Wasfi told FilGoal.com on Sunday. "He was approached by some mid-table clubs in England, but is still considering his options regarding the next move." Wigan Interest Mido was reportedly linked to Wigan, where Egypt teammate Amr Zaki plays, but Wasfi ruled out the Latics option. "I don't think Mido is tempted by Wigan, even though they are interested," he added. Wasfi has also indicated that Boro's poor league position is another reason that could prompt his brother's exit. Gareth Southgate's team are currently fourth from bottom in the Premiership table after 20 matches. Despite his persistent injury problems, Mido is the club's joint top scorer in the league with four goals, alongside Turkish ace Tuncay.
