Bani Obeid coach Maher Abdul-Hamid believes that his team clinched a victory over Zamalek because they precisely followed his directives. The third-tier beat the Cairo giants 1-0 on Friday in the Egyptian Cup, thanks to Al-Sayed Al-Mandouh's winner on 80 minutes. Having won the game, Obeid advanced to the round of 16. "We managed to keep a rock-solid backline, and that's why Zamalek couldn't score," the tactician said after the game. Abdul-Hamid is convinced that Ismaili's early elimination two days ago affected the White Knights' performance, saying they were trying hard to scorer an early opener to be in the safe side. "They wanted to avoid early disqualification like Ismaili, therefore they were keen to break the deadlock in the early minutes of the game," he commented. "In the second half, I told my players that they would have a substantial chance to qualify for the next round should they exert enough effort."
