Petrojet striker Alaa Ibrahim refuted reports claiming that he held talks with Zamalek over a potential deal in the winter transfer window. "I haven't been involved in direct negotiations with Zamalek," the former Ahli player told FilGoal.com. The 33-year-old said he would like to move to the White Knights should the latter show interest. "I would like to seal a move to Zamalek. But in all cases Petrojet would have the last word on my next step," he said. The veteran hitman still has two years in his contract with the petroleum side.
Ibrahim has been linked with a good number of moves to numerous clubs since he topped the Egyptian League scoring charts with a 15-goal tally last season. On the other hand, Petrojet football director Mounir Hassan said he was informed with Zamalek's overtures to purchase Ibrahim in January. "The boardroom would consider the offer should Zamalek announce it," the official said. The Cairo giants are heavily tipped to make an offer in the immediate future. "Even though his contact is still valid, Ibrahim would be able to decide on his future," Hassan added.
