Ismaili's Brazilian coach Ricardo Ferreira leaped to the defense of error-prone goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi. Sobhi was once again at fault to gift Telecom Egypt's their only goal in the 2-1 Egyptian League defeat to Ismaili on Thursday. "In the recent 1-0 victory over Zamalek, Sobhi produced a fine display," Ricardo told a press conference following Telecom's match. "Any player commits errors, we should support Sobhi instead of attacking him." The 27-year-old guardian was jeered off the pitch despite Ismaili's last-gasp victory over Telecom. Despite being the Dervishes' first-choice goalie for more than seven years, Sobhi never really impressed between the sticks. He was often criticized for lack of consistency as well as committing dreadful blunders in high-profile games. Sobhi's days at Ismaili appear to be numbered as Iraqi keeper Nour Sabri is set to join the club in January on a free transfer.
