Amir Abdul-Hamid will be looking forward to win his first African title as the starting keeper when Ahli play Coton Sport in the second leg of the Champions League final on Sunday. Ahli won three titles in 2001, 2005 and 2006 but Abdul-Hamid was the second-choice goalie in all of them, with veteran keeper Essam Al-Hadari playing regularly. But after Al-Hadari's shocking move to Swiss side Sion last February, Abdul-Hamid was stepped up to fill the void. He featured in all the games of the current edition and put outstanding performances in Ahli's most difficult away fixtures against ASEC Mimosas and Dynamos Harare. Abdul-Hamid kept a clean sheet in both games and if he repeated the feat in Cameroon, Ahli will be crowned champions for the sixth time in history. Enjoying a 2-0 lead from the first-leg in Cairo, a draw or even losing by a one-goal margin would guarantee Ahli the title.
