Middlesbrough striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' said that he is prepared to wait and work hard in order to win a place among the team's offence. The Egyptian, who is competing for a spot with both Tuncay Sanli of Turkey and Brazilian striker Afonso Alves, came off the bench on Saturday to equalize for his club against West Ham. "We had a great result against Manchester City the week before and it was only right the coach gave Tuncay and Alves another chance," Mido was quoted as saying by The Telegraph. "I knew I was only going to get about half an hour in this game so I was telling myself you have to make the most of those minutes." The former Tottenham striker wisely added that rather than complaining about not playing, he's more focused on improving himself to earn a guaranteed first team spot. "I must prove I should be in the team. The only way I can do that is by playing well and scoring goals. "All I can do is make the manager's life difficult and if everyone is playing well it's not going to get any easier." Mido admitted that the presence of three good strikers within the Middlesbrough squad has made it tough for coach Gareth Southgate to make a selecting decision. "Tuncay has been brilliant, Afonso is also a good player and I've done OK. The coach has to choose two from us it's not an easy task. "All we can do is push ourselves forward. All I can do is ensure I'm one of the two," the 25-year-old concluded.
