Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann expressed his happiness with his team's win over Steaua Bucharest in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. The Bavarians kicked off their European campaign with the 1-0 win in Bucharest, and despite the mediocre performance Klinsmann was glad with the game's outcome. "It's always important to start with three points and the team earned it," Klinsmann was quoted a saying by Bayern's official website on Thursday. Bayern's only goal of the game came courtesy of a Daniel Van Buyten header in the 14th minute, and Klinsmann stressed that if his men took their chances well in the first half it'd have been a different score line. "In the first-half, we controlled the game and we could have been 2-0 up at half-time. But after the break we played a little bit too defensively and we fell back a little bit too far." "We knew it'd be anything but easy to win here," added the former Germany coach. Bayern who return to Champions League action this season after playing in the UEFA Cup last year are now top of group F with three points.
