Manchester City have reached an agreement with Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ADUG) to buy the Premiership club from owner Thaksin Shinawatra. The Citizens' official web site confirmed that an agreement was met with the oil-rich UAE investors. "A period of due diligence for all parties, including the FA Premier League has now been entered," a City statement read. Earlier on Monday, Arabian Business web site stated that the Abu Dhabi group has sealed a deal with City. "We will release details later, but this is a great event for both the club and Abu Dhabi," ADUG representative Suleiman al-Fahim told Arabian Business. "Our goal is very simple—to make Manchester City the biggest club in the Premier League, and to begin with, to finish in the top four this season."
