Zaki wants to repay Wigan fans
Published in FilGoal on 29 - 08 - 2008

Egyptian striker Amr Zaki said he aims to maintain his scoring streak when Wigan take on Hull City in the Premiership on Saturday to repay the fans for their warm welcome.
"I love scoring and I am happy that I have not had to wait long to score for my new club. But now I want to carry on," Zaki told the club's official website.
The report on Wigan's website hailed Zaki's scoring talent saying he scored two goals in two friendly games in addition to two goals in his first three competitive games for Latics.
He also had a splendid performance against Chelsea only to be denied by a brilliant Petr Cech.
"I don't fear anybody, that's just the way I am. So I go into every game I play with just one intention, to score. That's the best way for me to help the team, that's what I do best," added the former Zamalek and ENPPI striker.
Zaki revealed that he was very excited by the Premier League and that he is very grateful to the Latics' fans.
"So far, English football has been everything I thought it would be, fast skilful and exciting and everyone at Wigan, and especially the supporters who keep chanting my name, have made me welcome. I want to repay them with goals!"
Talking about the team Zaki stated that he was impressed by the quality of the players.
"With Emile Heskey and Henri Camara, you have two top international strikers, but there are good players everywhere, internationals, and I think the team will do well this season.
"In the league we have played really well but not got the results, that happens in football. We showed in the cup what we can do, so now it is just a case of keep playing the way we have been and the results in the league will start coming, hopefully on Saturday," added the Nations Cup 2006 and 2008 winner.
Zaki also confirmed that the team hasn't been affected by its poor start of the season and that the best is yet to come.
"Everyone has been so positive about the game, we are travelling with only one thing in our minds, to come away with three points and get the season really started."
