Middlesbrough coach Gareth Southgate has no intentions of letting Mido go this summer, amid the Egyptian striker's link with Wigan Athletic. Mido told FilGoal.com last week that he is contemplating a loan move to the Latics, who already have Egypt forward Amr Zaki. However, Southgate implied that no players are expected to be on the exports side before the upcoming transfer window closure. "The lad wants to play football but he's shown over the last two weeks what an important player he is for us," the Boro boss told the club's official site. "I've no intention of letting any of the players we've got with us go. We feel we can achieve good things this season and it's important we keep our first team squad together." Despite being used as a second-half substitute, Mido scored two goals in two games for Boro in the Premiership so far, including a stunner at Liverpool on Saturday. The 25-year-old is currently playing second fiddle to Brazilian striker Afonso Alves, who joined from Heerenveen last season.
