Arshavin close to joining Tottenham

Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin is close to joining English side Tottenham Hotspur, the player's agent said on Friday.
Dennis Lachter said that Arshavin, who plays for Russia's Zenit St. Petersburg, was not keen on moving to Tottenham but he had a change of heart lately.
"Andrei is ready to move to Tottenham, now it just depends on Zenit," Lachter told Sovietsky Sport.
"Arshavin changed his decision [about joining Spurs] due to excellent interest from Spurs.
"They are the one team that fully agreed his contract demands and ready to pay almost the full price that Zenit wants."
The 27-year-old helped Zenit win the UEFA Cup last season at the expense of Scottish giants Rangers.
He also impressed at EURO 2008, helping Russia reach the tournament's semi-final.
Arshavin was linked with a host of clubs such as Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea.
