Zaki prepared for Wigan challenge
Published in FilGoal on 23 - 07 - 2008

Amr Zaki is aware that his first-team status will not be guaranteed at Wigan Athletic after joining from Zamalek on a season-long loan.
"I see the names in the team and I know I'm going to have to fight for my place, like everyone else at the club," the Egypt striker told Wigan's official website on Wednesday.
"But for now the talking is over and the work begins. I need to get fit and be ready to compete for my place for the game against West Ham."
The Latics have finally wrapped up Zaki's deal after protracted negotiations with Cairo-based club Zamalek.
Zaki is renowned for being a combative frontman. He hardly surrenders the ball while under his feet.
While praising Wigan's friendly atmosphere inside the dressing room, the former ENPPI man insisted he would do his best to appear as strong as ever.
"I heard that we are a big family who fight for each other," Zaki told Wigan's official website on Wednesday.

Zaki pays tribute to Bruce
"Family means everything in Egypt and I'll make a promise to all the fans.
"Every time I put on a Wigan Athletic shirt I will do everything in my power to do well, try my best and make my new family proud."
Bruce Tribute
Zaki has vowed to repay Steve Bruce's faith in him after the English manager exerted lots of efforts to lure him to the JJB stadium.
Zamalek were reluctant to offload their star frontman, who helped the club end their three-year title drought after netting the winner in the Egyptian Cup final against ENPPI.
"Many other clubs might have given up, because Zamalek did not want to let me go at first."
"I'm totally determined to repay all the faith and patience that Steve Bruce and the club have shown in me to bring me here."
