Cech devastated by Turkey late drama
Published in FilGoal on 16 - 06 - 2008

Czech keeper Petr Cech said that exiting EURO 2008 after losing 3-2 to Turkey sums up trophy-less season.
"We are absolutely devastated. It's hard to believe what just happened," the Czech keeper said after the game.
Turkey went two down but stormed back to register a memorable victory in the dying seconds.
"We felt we played very well in the first half and were in control of the game. Jan Koller gave us the lead and when we went two goals up there did not seem any way back for Turkey," added Cech.
The Blues keeper made a terrible mistake, failing to catch an easy cross and allowing Nihat Kahveci to level the score. Two minutes later, Kahveci broke free to score a superb winning goal.
"That game really sums up my season, especially after losing out on three trophies for Chelsea in the final games. We came so close but blew it in the end," said the Blues shot-stopper, who lost the Premier League and the Champions League trophies to Manchester United.
Cech also blamed the ball and the rain for his blunder but insisted that he will have to live with that.
"It's just one of those things. Everybody makes mistakes and I am a human being. I tried my best but there was a lot of water on the ball and it slipped from my grasp."
