Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi has flown to Turkey to open talks with Trabzonspor over the possibility of signing Egypt full-back Sayed Moawad. Trabzonspor have just signed Moawad on a permanent basis after paying Ismaili $900,000. The player's deal with the Turkish side includes a clause that allows him return to Egypt on condition that he pays back the money Trabzon paid for him. Trabzon's move to acquire the services of Moawad, who spent a three-month loan deal with the team, paves the way for Ahli to sign him. Ahli hadn't been able to lure him to Cairo last January after heavy protests from Ismaili fans led to the deal being cancelled. That's why Moawad opted for an indirect route to Ahli as the fierce rivalry between the Red Devils and Ismaili wouldn't have helped the player fulfill his aim.
