Egypt's foreign-based players will be rested for one week before starting preparations for the World Cup qualifiers, FilGoal.com has learnt. Manager Hassan Shehata will hold an open training camp starting from May 12th as he tries to keep his players fit for Malawi game in June, a source in the technical staff told FilGoal.com. Players who are plying their trade abroad will join this camp one week after their leagues come to an end. Hassan Mostafa, who plays for Saudi side Al-Wehda, and Wael Gomaa of Qatar's Siliya are set to be the first players to arrive in the camp. Egypt captain and Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan, Middlesbrough's Mohamed Shawky, Hamburg striker Mohamed Zidan and Sion goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari will then follow. The Pharaohs will be at full strength following the Egypt Cup final between Zamalek and ENPPI on May 25th. Egypt are set to play Malawi on June 14th in the qualifiers opener. The African champions, who are yet to make a World Cup appearance sine 1990, will compete with DR Congo, Malawi and Djibouti in Group 12.
