David Trezeguet has been recalled to replace the injured Karim Benzema in France's squad for the Euro 2008 warm-up friendly against England on Wednesday. Lyon hitman Benzema suffered a knee injury during the French champions' 4-2 victory over Paris Saint Germain last weekend. Trezeguet's call-up came against the odds though, as the Juventus striker has an edgy relationship with manager Raymond Domenech. The 29-year-old striker, who has 70 caps for France, recently implied that he does not expect Domenech to select him for next summer European showpiece. On the other hand, the France tactician said last year that he prefers the young Benzema over Trezeguet. Ironically, Benzema and Trezeguet both have 17 league goals this season, leading the scoring charts in France and Italy respectively.
