Anderlecht revived their title hopes after beating Gent 3-2 in a Belgian League thriller on Sunday. Surprisingly Egypt's Captain Ahmed Hassan was left on the bench and had only 10 minutes of action. Stanislav Vlcek gave Anderlecht a 2-0 advantage at the break, 24 and 38, and Argentinean striker Nicolas Frutos made it 3-0 from the spot in the 65th minute to put the hosts in front of a mountain to climb. However, Gent managed to cut the lead, 3-2, courtesy of late goals from Foley and Haznadar, 88 and 89, but that wasn't enough to get any points from this game. Anderlecht are fourth in the standings with 52 points six behind leaders Standard Liege who have a game in hand. Hassan will fly to Cairo on Monday to play a friendly game with the Pharaohs against Argentina on Wednesday.
