Die Foneye header sends ENPPI to final
Published in FilGoal on 19 - 03 - 2008

Ivorian striker Vincent Die Foneye headed home with two minutes remaining to help ENPPI secure a place in the Egyptian Cup final following a thrilling 3-2 victory over Arab Contractors.
Rami Rabie put Contractors in front after nine minutes but his side's lead did not last for long, thanks to Islam Awad's equalizer five minutes later.
ENPPI went ahead in the 20th minute through Abdul-Aziz Tawfiq before Ahmed Abdul-Aziz restored parity 14 minutes from time.
Die Foneye's last-gasp header helped ENPPI secure an invaluable win over a resilient Contractors side.
Both sides finished with ten men on the field. ENPPI full-back Abdullah Ragab received his marching orders in the 75th minute for a second bookable offense.
Six minutes later, Contractors defender Mahmoud Bayoumi was sent-off for picking up a second yellow.
ENPPI booked their place in the cup final for the second time in four years. The Petroleum club won the title in 2005 when they beat Alexandria-based club Ittihad 1-0.
They will face Zamalek in the competition's final on May 25th after the Cairo giants defeated Harras Al-Hodoud 2-1 on Tuesday.
Pulsating Encounter
Contractors' giant striker Rabie needed nine minutes to broke the deadlock.

Contractors bow out
The former Ahli man notched home on the rebound after ENPPI keeper Mostafa Kamal failed to deal with a weak free-kick.
ENPPI talented winger Awad leveled the score in the 14th minute when he cut past Abdul-Aziz before curling a sublime right-footed shot into the far top corner.
Tawfiq put ENPPI ahead six minutes later after a brilliant individual effort. He got the better of his marker inside the area and lashed home into the right top corner of the net.
Ahmed Raouf should have extended ENPPI's advantage midway through the first half but he somehow fired wide from the six-yard box after being fed by a low cross from the right.
Three minutes from the break, Die Foneye squandered another easy chance when his close-range free header went wide of the post.
Contractors were lucky not to concede a third goal after leaving huge gaps in their back-line.
They also managed to equalize against the run of play in the 76th minute, thanks to another blunder from Kamal.
The former Ahli goalie let a weak free-kick from Abdul-Aziz squirm beneath his body and into the net.
Die Foneye made amends for Kamal's continued errors when he rose unmarked at the far post to head home and secure ENPPI's place in the final.
