Spanish Champions Real Madrid have contacted Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho to succeed current manager Bernd Schuster at the end of the season, reports claimed on Friday. Spanish-based newspaper Marca revealed that the Madrid bosses were deceived by the humiliating exit from the UEFA Champions League and lost faith in Schuster who has been struggling since the beginning of the year. Real Chairman Ramon Calderon gave the German tactician a vote of confidence but the report confirms that Mourinho was contacted and that he agreed to take over. According to Marca, the former Porto and Chelsea manager said in 2007 "I would love to coach Real Madrid." Mourinho has been linked with many sides AC Milan, Inter and Barcelona.
