AC Milan Captain Paolo Maldini revealed that he may reconsider his retirement decision at the end of the season and play for one more year. “In these last few months my knees are no longer hurting very much. The club and fans are pushing me to play for another year," Maldini, who will turn 40 in the summer, was quoted saying on Football Italia. The former Italy legend struggled a lot with injuries over the past year and has repeatedly announced that he will hang up his boots at the end of this season. “I have to admit, three months ago I was in a much worse condition and had to stay out for five months following surgery. Now I feel better and am even playing in a role I hadn't tried for quite a while.” Maldini has switched position and turned back to the left-position back instead of central defense. He produced a brilliant display against the Arsenal young stars and the fans asked him to extend his career with the Rossoneri. The 39-year old player has also answered to criticism following AC Milan's disappointing exit from the Champions League. “I don't think that's necessary (to reshuffle the squad). We need the right men, going for quality not quantity. Our past is not so remote, as in the past 12 months we have won the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup."
