Sampdoria sporting director Beppe Marotta has issued a warning to Antonio Cassano after being sent off in the 2-2 draw against Torino on Sunday. According to Football Italia the player faces a big fine. "He's a great player, but Cassano isn't a champion yet. We give him all the blame – there's nothing else to say,” Marotta was quoted saying. Cassano insulted the referee and threw his shirt at him before being shown the red. The 25-year old striker apologized to the fans and Sampdoria directors admitting he behaved very stupidly. The incident provoked many players in the Serie A especially Juventus midfielder Mauro Camoranesi who said that he was happy that Cassano wasn't with Italy in the World Cup 2006. The former AS Roma striker is a very tempered player and has many times failed to control his attitude. He failed to prove himself with Real Madrid and now he is hoping to impress during his loan-spell at Sampdroia.
