Ahli have asked the Egyptian Football Association on Thursday not to send Essam Al-Hadari's International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to Swiss club Sion. The Red Devils' officials were infuriated by the keeper's decision to join Sion without their approval as he apparently invoked a FIFA ruling to depart the club. The rule allows players over 28, who have spent more than two years at their clubs, to buy out the rest of their contract. "The player has no right to leave without our permission halfway through the season," Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi said. "He should also notify us 15 days before his departure, but he didn't," he told FilGoal.com. Al-Qaeyi also revealed that Ahli have suspended the veteran guardian. The Egyptian champions' board will hold en emergency meeting in the next few hours to decide on the best possible way to respond.
