A second-half volley from Joe Cole ensured Chelsea went through to the English Carling Cup final, beating Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park on Wednesday. The holders secured a 3-1 aggregate victory over the Toffees to set up a meeting with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the competition's final next month. Spurs had advanced to the final after crushing Arsenal 6-2 on aggregate. Goal hero Cole was happy with the away victory, indicating that facing Premiership fellows Everton is never easy. "It's great to be in with a chance of winning the trophy. They (Everton) are a top side and always give us a great game," he told Sky Sports after the game. "After losing semi-finals at Liverpool before, it will be a nice flight home tonight." The Blues were missing African trio Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and Salomon Kalou, in addition to Frank Lampard and John Terry, who are both injured.
