Angola manager Luis Oliveira said that one mistake allowed South Africa to snatch a late equalizer in their Group D clash. Elrio van Heerden fired a long-range bullet in the 87th minute to cancel out an opener by Manucho. "We dominated the match till a few minutes from the end then one mistake cost us the victory," Oliveira told a press conference after the 1-1 draw on Wednesday. "As we say in Angola, the bird was in our hand but we let it fly away." Earlier on Wednesday, Tunisia held Senegal to a 2-2 draw in the same group. South Africa coach Carlos Alberto was happy with the spirit of his team and said the performance promised better results in later stages. "Our spirit gives us hope for the upcoming matches," the Brazilian manager said. "We are young and Angola had eight players with World Cup experience, which made a difference."
