Valencia have signed Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Hedwiges Maduro on a four-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed feee, the Primera Liga side announced. "I am delighted to have signed for a big club like Valencia," the Dutch midfielder told Valencia official website. "It has helped that (coach Ronald) Koeman is here but above all it's about the greatness of the club." Maduro is Valencia's second signing of the January transfer window after Los Che acquired the services of Boca Juniors midfielder Ever Banega. Koeman, who replaced Quique Flores at the helm in November, is trying to win over Valencia fans after a string of disappointing results left the team in seventh place of the league table. The Dutch tactician recently dropped veteran trio David Albelda, Santiago Canizares and Miguel Angulo, citing their poor displays as a reason for his decision.
