Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas for a record of 40 million euros next summer. The Spanish newspaper El Mundo said on Thursday that new coach Juande Ramos put the Spain keeper on top of his shop list and that the Spurs are ready to splash their cash to bring him to White Hart Lane. Such a transfer amount would match Italy's Gianluigi Buffon record who moved from Parma to Juventus in 2001. The report said that the London-based club could also offer him a deal of seven million euros a year. But the 26-year old keeper had signed a new deal with Real that will keep him tied at the Bernabeu until 2011. Tottenham, who are struggling in the Premier League, are trying to rebuilt their squad and strengthen it to be among the top contenders next season.
