England manager Steve McClaren has recalled skipper David Beckham to the squad that will take on Austria in a friendly next Friday and Croitia at Wembley, in a Euro 2008 qualifier, on November 21st. Beckham has just recovered from a knee ligament injury after being sidelined from the past England four games. The 31-year old midfielder had an impressive comeback with the LA Galaxy and it earned him a call up back to the National team. He is set to play his 98th and 99th caps and hopes to play the 100th game to become the fifth English player to reach that milestone. "His fitness is fine, his injury is fine and he is included in the squad because although he hasn't played many games recently he is a big game player," McClaren said. "With John Terry and Rio Ferdinand out of the squad we are lacking experienced players." The England boss needs some experienced players before facing Croatia in a decider. Croatia top the group with 26 points and have two matches to play. England have 23 points with one match to play and Russia 21 points with two to play. "The main disappointment is that it is out of our hands," added the England boss.
