England giants Liverpool have revived their hopes in the UEFA Champions League with a storming 8-0 win over Besiktas on Tuesday at Anfield. Hat-Trick hero Yossi Benayoun (32m 53, 56), Ryan Babbel (78, 81), Peter Crouch (19, 89) and Captain Steven Gerrard routed their Turkish visitors. The result is a new UEFA Champions League record beating the 7-0 wins registered in the names of Arsenal against Slavia Prague last month and Juventus over Olympiakos in December 2003. Liverpool, who had a single point of their past three matches, climb to third spot of the group A with four points behind leaders Marseille (8 points) who lost to Porto (7 points) 2-1. The Reds will need to secure victories in their next couple of matches against Marseille at home and Porto in Portugal to go through to the next stage.
