Former England coach Sammy Lee has left Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent, the Premiership side announced on Wednesday. "This has been a difficult decision for all parties but we have agreed that time is right," Bolton's chairman Phil Gartside said in a statement on the club's Web site. "Sammy has played an important role in the club's recent history. We wish Sammy and Frank well for the future," "Our efforts will now be to look for a replacement manager and to concentrate on the future. The club will be making no further comment at this moment in time." Lee has been in charge as Bolton head coach for less than six months, before which he has been assisting former coach Sam Allardyce, currently at the helm at Newcastle. Lee's departure is largely affected by the club's poor league position, lying joint bottom with Derby County at five points.
