Sammy Lee has been named Bolton Wanderers' new manager following the surprise resignation of Sam Allardyce on Sunday. The former England assistant coach revealed his joy with the new job as he marked out Allardyce's exploits with the club. "I'm very, very excited at the prospect of managing Bolton," Lee said on Sky Sports News. "It's a great legacy that Sam has left and I'd just like to continue with the good work that he's put in place. "I've been very fortunate to work under some very good people and certainly Sam was right up there, if not the best. Lee, who has been Allardyce's assistant manager this season, is expected to remain at the Reebok Stadium on permanent basis, starting his role with Bolton's remaining two Premiership games. "We've got these two games in which we need to try and get our place in Europe. Because the chairman's only had a short space of time we'll re-evaluate it after that," he added.
