Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is expecting a tough task when his side start their UEFA Champions League campaign against Sevilla on Wednesday. The Gunners are currently on a high in the Premiership, and the French man hopes to maintain the good work against an in-form Sevilla side. "We're doing well and we're confident, but Sevilla are also doing well. Both teams try to go forward when they win the ball so it should be a good game," he told the pre-match conference. The Spanish outfit clinched back-to-back UEFA Cup trophies in the last two seasons, and they finally return to the top European club competition after a 50-year absence. However, Wenger expects the Sevillistas to carry on the continental success as he tipped the Andalucia club as one of the competition's favorites. "Sevilla are technically good, well balanced and they're not scared to play away from home, they are one of several genuine contenders to win the competition," he added.
Juande Ramos "They have joined Real Madrid Barcelona and Valencia as the leading clubs in Spain. When you grow, it's important to take things step by step and succeeding in the UEFA Cup is good preparation for the Champions League." Open game Sevilla coach Juande Ramos, one of the hotshots of European football at the moment after his exploits with the Primera Liga side, expects open play from two attack-minded sides. "Arsenal and Sevilla usually score a lot and I expect an attractive game. A draw would not be bad given Arsenal are the top-seeded team, but a victory would be fantastic," he said. The Sevilla tactician shares the same opinion with his Arsenal counterpart as he believes that his side could use their UEFA Cup success as a stepping stone to the Champions League. "After two great years in the UEFA Cup, we're ready to make the step up. The competitions are very different and Arsenal represent a tough start but if we approach the games in the same way, we can do well."
