Middlesbrough Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam Mido was named man of the match, by the club's fans, after his side defeated Birmingham 2-0 on Sunday. Despite not having his name on the score sheet neither assisting his teammates David Wheater or Stewart Downing in any of their goals, the 24-year-old striker had a major impact on the team. Mido won 46% of the votes far ahead of Frenchman Jeremie Aliadiere who came second with 11%. The former Tottenham striker, hasn't yet completed three weeks at the Riverside but obviously he became the new crowd favorite after winning the fans MOM award for the third straight match. Since his arrival the team picked 7 points in three matches while Gareth Southgate's men failed to collect any during their first two games.
