Alex completes Chelsea switch

Brazil defender Alex has left PSV Eindhoven for Chelsea after he signed a three-contract at Stamford Bridge on Friday, the London club announced.
"Alex Rodrigo Dias da Costa today passed a medical and signed a three-year contract with Chelsea," a statement on the Chelsea's Web site read.
The 25-year old center-half was on standby to join the Blues as he has been waiting to be granted a UK work permit.
Alex was a member of the Selecao team that clinched the Copa America title in Venezuela this summer.
