Zamalek filed a complaint against Egypt Olympic team coach Magdi Tolba for leaving their players, who were included in his team, in Algeria airport without any money or supervising what delayed their departure to France for five hours. “I want an explanation for that attitude especially from Magdi Tolba, Mahmoud Bakr and Ayman Hafez,” said Zamalek's board member Amr Al-Ganayni. The Olympic squad includes three of Zamalek's players in Karim Zekri, Ahmed Ghanem and Mahmoud Abdul-Razeq Shikabala. The trio didn't come back to Egypt as they had to catch up their teammates who are camping in France. “We refuse such an attitude and we also refuse all the criticism said by Tolba towards our players as he pointed them as one of the main reasons of the team's failure in Algeria,” said Zamalek's board member Amr Al-Ganayni. The young Pharaohs registered their worst ever record in the All African Games as they were knocked out from the first round after suffering three defeats.
