Liverpool have completed the signing of West Ham midfielder Yossi Benayoun and Ajax forward Ryan Babel, the Premiership side announced on Friday. Dutch forward Babel has signed a five-year deal while Israel's Benayoun put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal. Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez expressed his delight at landing the duo as he hopes his side would compete for the Premiership title next season. "Both Babel and Benayoun have lots of quality. They are good creative players, the kind of which our supporters will like," the Spaniard told a press conference. "I've admired both players for a long time and what was also really important to me was the fact that they both wanted to come here so much. They've a strong desire to improve and win trophies. "I think we've worked really hard this summer. A lot of names have been spoken about but we've always had our targets. Benayoun was one of them and Babel was another. We are really pleased." The Reds have already secured the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres.
