Arsenal have signed Norwegian defender Havard Nordtveit from FK Haugesund for an undisclosed fee, the Premiership side announced on Wednesday. The Gunners did not reveal the length of the contract, but said on their official website that it is a 'long-term' contract. The 17-year-old defender, who represented Norway in both the recent UEFA Under 19 and Under 17 European Championships, had spells with his hometown club Vats 94 as well as Skjold IL. He joined FK Haugesund in 2005 where he excelled and attracted the interest of a host of clubs. Nordtveit is Arsenal's second signing in the off-season after the arrival of Croatian striker Eduardo da Silva from Dinamo Zagreb.
