Handball - Ahli beat Metodista to stay in the lead

Ahli beat Brazilian side Metodista 26-23 on Wednesday in the Super Globe 2007 second round to stay on top of the table ahead of European giants Ciudad Real thanks to goals' difference.
The Pan-American champions had a strong start and took the lead early in the game but the Red Devils were able to regain composure and get the upper hand to end the first half on a 15-10 lead.
Veteran keeper Hamada Al-Naqib came on in the second half and was forced to make some excellent saves to lead his team-mates to the victory.
Ahli are now on top of the table with 4 points just like Spanish Ciudad Real while Metodista is third with only two points.
Early in the day Ciudad Real defeated brave Mouloudia Algiers 29-26. The game ended in an ugly scene as coach-player Talent Dubishaev was involved in violent acts with some of the Algerian players.
