Juventus have appointed Claudio Ranieri as the new manager of the team for the next three seasons. The 55-year-old is set to replace Frenchman Didier Deschamps, who resigned last week. Ranieri who signed a three-year contract with Juventus was described as "a man of international experience and vision" in a statement. Deschampps quit his job a few days ago after leading the team to promotion following their last year saga. Ranieri began as a coach with minor Italian club Campania before moving to Cagliari. He had spells with Napoli, Fiorentina, Valencia and Atletico Madrid afterwards before he moved to Chelsea in September 2000. He failed to win a trophy in his four years at Stamford Bridge even during when Roman Abramovich bought the club and spent millions on the squad. Consequently the latter showed him the door replacing him with Jose Mourinho. Ranieri returned to Valencia for a largely unsuccessful spell and then spent time as a pundit before joining Parma.
