The visitors produced a 19th minute alert through Romanian striker Sergiu Radu, but former Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger equalized eight minutes later before Khedira's priceless winner decided the game in the 63rd minute. Armin Veh's men were crowned champions for the first time since 1992 after reaching the 70th point, two points clear of Schalke who beat Arminia Bielefeld 2-1.
