Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini believes his side had a better season than arch rivals AC Milan, despite the latter's UEFA Champions League achievement. Mancini totally disagreed with a Gazzetta Dello Sport pundits' survey giving most votes to the Rossoneri as the better of the two rivals this season. "Personally I believe that we were better this season," Mancini told a press conference ahead of his side's Serie A game with Messina. Mancini believes that beating Milan twice in the Serie A this season is enough to lift the Nerazzurri over their bitter rivals. "Milan have done very well to progress in Europe, but when we have faced off in Serie A, Inter won both matches." Milan have reached their second Champions League final in three years, producing some impressive displays against Manchester United and Bayern Munich, while Inter were dumped early by Valencia in the last 16 phase.
Ancelotti However, the Inter tactician believes it's a media game. "Milan are very strong in media terms and can always do what they want," added Mancini. On the other hand, Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, did not seem concerned by Inter's local supremacy, claiming that Inter finally has something to cheer about, following Milan's ascendancy in recent years. "So? I'd say it was about time, because if you look at the statistics then in the last few years we had always won. "Inter had to get a look in eventually," a smiling Ancelotti said in the press conference before the Fiorentina Serie A clash.
