Ahli's Angolan winger Gilberto is set to take part in the team's training session on Thursday for the first time since September after recovering from injury. The talented left-sided midfielder made his comeback against Tersana last September after a nine-month layoff due to an Achilles injury which he aggravated and was in turn sidelined for seven more months. Since then Gilberto has conducted a long rehabilitation program amid rumors that his career was over and that Ahli were considering parting ways with him. However, the former Petro Atletico man has been declared fit to participate with the African champions.
Barakat out for a week Meanwhile, midfielder Mohamed Barakat will be out of action for one week after suffering from pelvic pain before his side's friendly game against Barcelona on Tuesday. Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri told FilGoal.com that the technical staff rested him as not to make the situation worse. The defending champions will secure their third successive Egyptian League title if they beat Petrojet on Monday.
