AC Milan astonishingly overturned their disappointing first leg 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich to beat them 2-0 in Allianz-Arena, and book their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf inspired the Rossoneri win with a dazzling first half performance when he scored the first and set up the second for Filippo Inzaghi in superb fashion. Bayern started brightly as Christian Lell almost scored in the eighth minute just to see his close range effort cleared off the line by Massimo Oddo. However, Seedorf stunned the Bavarians in the 27th minute when he sidestepped Lucio before blasting a low shot from outside the area past Oliver Kahn.
Seedorf turned provider just 4 minutes later when he released Inzaghi with a cheeky back heel, and the Italy international dispatched the ball into the roof of the net. The German giants failed to recover from their first half shocker, as the Milan defense and goalkeeper Dida looked defiant ever since their two-goal cushion. Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld brought on Roque Santa Cruz and David Pizarro in an attempt to reduce the deficit, but the Rossoneri kept their cool until the final whistle. Milan will face Manchester United in the semi-finals after the latter crushed Milan's compatriots Roma 7-1 on Tuesday.
