Barcelona have denied rumors concerning a summer capture of AC Milan's Brazilian goalkeeper Dida, the Spanish club's sporting director Txiki Beguiristain said on Sunday. Beguiristain has declared the club's technical staff have shown no interest in acquiring Dida's services. “We are not interested in Dida and we are very unhappy about these rumors. There has never been any contact with him and he does not feature on our agenda," Beguiristain told Eurosport. The Basque director spoke about the Catalans' faith in the abilities of current goalkeeping duo Victor Valdes and Albert Jorquera. "The pair are sensational and we are very calm about the players,” he added. Barcelona have been recently suffering from defensive problems that caused them to lose three of their last five matches. Dida will likely leave San Siro at the end of the season when his contract expires, while Milan officials have been linked with a swoop for Lokomotiv Moscow's international shot-stopper Igor Akinfeev.
