Alexandria-Hany Al Awadi: Former Egypt international Ahmed Al-Kass has been appointed caretaker coach of Olympic, the Alexandrian club announced on Saturday. The announcement came after Mohamed Radwan changed his mind about taking over the team following the sacking of Ashraf Qassem on Tuesday. Olympic officials reached an agreement with Al-Gaish club, where Al-Kass works as an assistant to coach Talaat Youssef, which will allow the former Alexandrian football icon help his former team. An Olympic club official told FilGoal.com on Saturday that Al-Kass has chosen Mohamed Abdul-Monem as his assistant. Al-Kass, 42, was a member of Egypt's so called ‘golden generation' that reached the 1990 World Cup finals in Italy. The dark skinned coach plied has trade with Olympic from the mid 1980s till the early 1990s before joining Cairo powerhouse Zamalek in a short spell. Olympic officials did not reveal the reasons behind Radwan's snub, who had already agreed to coach the coastal club for a fee worth EGP 25,000 per month. The Alexandrian club is on a seven-match winless streak. They lie in 15th place with a mere 15 points.
