Former Ivory Coast manager Henri Michel has been appointed in charge of Egyptian giants Zamalek, the Cairo club announced on Tuesday. Michel, who was sacked by Qatari side Al-Arabi last month, signed a six-month deal to become the fourth coach to lead Zamalek this season. Zamalek sacked Portuguese coach Manuel Cajuda earlier this month and was replaced by his assistant Ahmed Ramzi who took charge of the team for one game. Veteran Zamalek coach Mahmoud Saad was appointed as the team caretaker until the club found a foreign replacement.

Michel, 59, is no stranger to African and Arab football as he managed the national teams of Cameroon, Morocco, Tunisia, UAE and Raja Casablanca.
